Our internal medicine specialists are dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions of the heart, kidney, liver, respiratory system, gastrointestinal system, urogenital system, endocrine system (hormones), and immune system, as well as blood disorders and infectious diseases. Our Internal Medicine team works closely with the referring veterinarians to diagnose complex problems, then establish a specific diagnosis and treatment plan. We may often utilize the services of the other specialist veterinarians in the fields of radiology & surgery within VSG to assist with a diagnosis.

Internal Medicine Clinician

Dr Ryan Cattin_V3

DR RYAN CATTIN was welcomed into the Internal Medicine team earlier this year, this marks the start of a 3-year residency aimed at passing the Australian and New Zealand College Fellowship examination to become an Internal Medicine specialist.

2007 saw Ryan following his life’s ambition to become a veterinarian and after being accepted to Massey University Veterinary School he has done just that, graduating with a BVSc (distinction) in 2012. Ryan decided he would make his start in general practice and accepted a position at Mill Road Veterinary Clinic in Whangarei. After 2 years there Ryan found his inclinations led him towards treating rare diseases and animals with multiple illnesses. This makes him the perfect candidate for an Internal Medicine Clinician.
